Curriculum Map for Earhart Class
What does Learning look like in Reception?
In Reception, your child learns through play, which may be stimulated by an adult during directed activities or, child initiated, through picking their own activities during Free Flow. During Free Flow, the children have access to both classroom learning environments, the snack area and our outdoor area.
Our focus areas for teaching are:
- Communication and Language
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Literacy (Reading and Writing)
- Mathematics (Number and Shape, Space and Measures)
- The World
- Exploring Materials and Media
Reception are now using Tapestry for their Learning Journals. If you do not currently have access to your child's learning journal, please speak with Miss Kemp or Miss Tonner and we can get you set up - it only requires an email address!
If you do have access to Tapestry, please feel free to share pictures from outside of school. This might be when you have been visiting family, sharing a book together or even baking. We would love to share these experiences in school and for your child to tell their friends and adults what they have been doing.
