New classes Academic Year 2020-21
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are writing to inform you of your child’s class and teaching team for the Academic Year 2020-2021.
Sadly, we are unable to have our usual transition days during the Summer term, however, a welcome video and profile of your child’s teaching team will be available on this page from next week.
We would also like to invite you and your child to send us any questions you might have about next year, classes or learning and we will do our best to answer them with the information we have. FAQ documents will then be available on the class page from Friday 3rd July. Please send questions to admin@unityprimaryacademy.com or use the contact form on this page.
We know that there are still a lot of unanswered questions and anxieties about September. Currently, Government guidance states that we will be able to welcome all children back to school in September and we will work towards that and keep parents informed through the summer via email and our website.
Yours Sincerely
Anthony Cosans

Summer Term Letter from Mr Anthony Cosans, Headteacher.
June 2020
Dear Parents / Carers,
We are approaching the end of a very unusual year, a year in which our school has only operated normally for approximately half of the time that it would usually have done. Many of the events and usual school activities have been cancelled and children have not been able to experience the usual end of year routines.
Despite all of this we must turn our attention towards September and the new academic year. At the time of writing this letter there are still many things that are unknown about what school will look like in September. However, there are some things that we can prepare for.
As well as saying goodbye to our Year Six children, we will also be bidding farewell to a number of staff. We will be saying goodbye to Mr Murray (Caretaker). Miss Gunner will be leaving us in the Summer to take up employment in another REAch2 school, we wish her well as she moves on to pastures new. Mrs Hartfield is also moving to a new school and we wish her the best in her new role. Mr Bennett will be leaving Unity to start his teacher training. We are sure that Mr Bennett will be a fantastic teacher and wish him all the best in his studies. Miss Halls has already started her maternity leave and Mrs Chicken and Miss Cassidy will be starting their maternity leave during the Summer Term and so they will not be here when we return in the Autumn. We wish all of them well with their exciting new adventure as parents.
We are in the process of finalising the classes for next year and this information will be with you soon. We are very aware of the impact that missing so much school can have on the children and are busy making plans for how we can begin to address any gaps in their learning when we return.
As soon as we have further information about the details for next year we will communicate them to you.
In the meantime, I look forward to being able to meet you in person rather than merely writing to you.
Yours sincerely,
Mr A Cosans
Headteacher
