Today we are going to write a story about the fantastic animals that can be found in Africa.
People often go to Africa to see the animals. This is called going on a safari. Imagine you are on a safari and you are excited to see elephants, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and lions in real life.
Read the start of the story and decide what happens happens next....
The sun is rising and my family and I are already in our vehicle heading towards the safari park. We are going to see so many animals that I have only ever seen on TV or in books. I am so excited!
Our car doesn't have a roof, which at first I thought was quite strange, but our safari guide called John has said this is so we can see all the animals better. Still, I hope the lions don't decide to jump in!
First, we see the enormous elephants. They are slowly walking along together, the baby elephants are next to their mum and dads. I take lots of photographs!
"I can see lions up ahead" exclaimed John. "Look, there they are!"
We all peer out the car and see several lions, basking in the sun. Suddenly, there is a spluttering sound from the car engine. John looks surprised. Slowly, the vehicle comes to a stop. I think we've broken down! What are we going to do?
Look at the pictures below to give you an idea of what a safari looks like. Finish the end of the story by writing what happens next in your purple books. We can't wait to read them!
