Maths 'Shape Bingo'

For today's maths learning, I would like you to play a game of shape bingo. The aim of the game is to cross off all the shapes on your bingo mat. You will need your grown ups to shout out the name of the shape and when you have the shape you can cross the shape of your mat. Once, you have crossed all the shapes out you can shout out 'BINGO'. You can either print off the bingo game or your can copy it on to paper to play the game.

I look forward to seeing you playing your game on Tapestry.

You can use the video below to help you generate some different ideas about the sentences you can write about the story. I would like you to use your phonic knowledge to help you write your sentences. You can choose to write about your favourite part of the story.

I look forward to seeing your sentence writing on Tapestry.

Phonics - 'y' sound

For today's sound we are going to be recapping the 'y' sound. First, I would like you to practise saying the sound and the rhyme, remember first you need to say, 'y' and the 'y, down a horn, up a horn and under the yak's head.'

Then you need to practise saying the words with 'y' sound in them, which are 'yes', 'yellow', 'yet' and 'yak'. Once you have practise saying the 'y' sound and the words. I would like you to practise writing the 'y' sound.

Then I would like you to practise sound out the word using Fred talk:

yak - y - a - k

yet - y - e - t

yes - y - e - s

I look forward to seeing all your hard work on Tapestry.
