Welcome to Year 2

Mandela class is named after Nelson Mandela, an inspirational campaigner for equality and justice. He spent 27 years in prison for his beliefs. In 1994 he became the first president of South Africa to be elected by all the people.  He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and 250 other awards for his bravery and courage.

Mandela class is a happy place to be where mutual respect is shown between children and adults.

Class Teacher: Miss Procter

Class LSA: Mrs Allott

Key Information:

PE is on a Wednesday morning, so please make sure your child comes to school in their kit on this day.

There is a water in the classroom that your child will have access to during lesson time. If you would like to send your child in with a bottle, please make sure it is filled with water only

Fruit is available at break time.

Reading Records are checked every day. We expect year 2 children to read a minimum of 10 mins a day, with their record signed by an adult at home after each read.

We encourage children to use Mathletics to access resources linked to their maths learning. This is used across the school - all children have an individual login, please inform your class teacher/LSA if this has been misplaced and we will reissue a login card.

Times tables are vitally important for all maths learning. The children in Mandela class use a website to help improve their multiplication knowledge:
