Maths - 3-D Shapes
For today's maths home learning we will be beginning to look at the concept of 3-d shapes. I would like you to being by looking at the power-point which will show you all the different types of 3-d shapes. I have attached the 3-d shapes power-point below.
I would like you to go on a 3-d shape hunt around the house and I would like you see if you can find as many of the 3-d shapes which are included on the power-point. Once, you have found the shapes, I would like you to take a picture of all the 3-d shapes you have found.
I look forward to seeing all the 3-d shapes you have found around the house, on Tapestry.
Everyday 3-D shapes
English - Character descriptions
For your home learning today, we are going to be continuing to use the story of Little Red Riding Hood and we are going to be writing character descriptions for each character in the story. When we talk about describing a character, it means that we tell the reader or someone something about the character or we give information about them. We can describe different things such as the way someone looks, sounds, behaves or feels.
An example of a character description is below for the Grandma:
Grandma was a kind lady, she was small in size and had short grey hair. She wore little round glasses and when she saw the wolf she was very scared.
I would like you to choose two of the characters in the story and I would like you to write a character description for them. You can either write the description in full sentences or you can draw a picture of the character and write key words around them for their description.
I look forward to seeing your character descriptions on Tapestry.
'What makes good friend?'
Today, for your home learning, I would like you to think about what makes a good friend. I would like you to read the 'Starry - Eyed Stan' e-book with your grown up. Once you have read the book, I would like you to go through the what makes a good friend power-point. Then, I would like you to talk about why you are a good friend and how you friends are good friends to you.
I look forward to hearing why you and your friends are good friends to each other on Tapestry.
Phonics 'tricky words'
For today's home learning for phonics, I would like you to continue to practise your tricky words. I would like you to watch the tricky words video and join in with the song.
Link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvMyssfAUx0
Once you have watched the video, I would like you to have a go at writing the tricky words into sentences.
She goes to the woods.
I like eating grapes and bananas.
I look forward to seeing your hard work on Tapestry.
Phonics - 'f' sound
For today's sound we are going to be recapping the 'f' sound. First, I would like you to practise saying the sound and the rhyme, remember first you need to say, 'f' and the 'f,f, down the stem and draw the leaves.'
Then you need to practise saying the words with 'f' sound in them, which are 'fan', 'fig', 'fox' and 'fit'. Once you have practise saying the 'f' sound and the words. I would like you to practise writing the 'f' sound.
Then I would like you to practise sound out the word using Fred talk:
fan - f - a - n
fig - f - i - g
fox - f - o - x
fit - f - i - t
I look forward to seeing all your hard work on Tapestry. I have attached the link to video for the 'f' sound for you to use whilst you are learning you are sounds.
