Science - Looking at the different seasons

For today's home learning, we are going to be focusing on Science and we are going to be looking at the different seasons. I would like you to watch the short clip on BBC Learning at Home section which is linked below.

 

This looks at the four different seasons with Seymour Science and his friend Gabby. Once you have watched the video, I would like you to have a go at drawing a different picture to represent each of the four different seasons. I look forward to seeing your different pictures representing the different seasons on Tapestry.

English - What's your favourite book?

For today's English home learning, I would like you to read and share your favourite book with your grown up. I would like you to read the book with your grown up and then I would like you to share your favourite part of the story with your grown up. 

 

I look forward to finding out your favourite story and finding out your favourite part of the story. I look forward to seeing your hard work on Tapestry.

Maths - Number tracks 1 - 20

For today's maths home learning I would like you to practise ordering your numbers 1 - 20. I would like you to fill in the missing numbers on the tracks. You can either print of the worksheet which is attached below or you can copy the worksheet on paper.

Number tracks 1-20

Phonics - 'p' sound

For today's sound we are going to be recapping the 'p' sound. First, I would like you to practise saying the sound and the rhyme, remember first you need to say, 'p' and the 'p, down the pirates plait, up and over the pirates' face'.

 

Then you need to practise saying the words with 'p' sound in them, which are 'pet', 'pen', 'pip' and 'pot'. Once you have practise saying the 'p' sound and the words. I would like you to practise writing the 'p' sound.

 

Then I would like you to practise sound out the word using Fred talk:

pip - p - i - p

pop - p - o - p

pen - p - e - n

pot - p - o - t

Then you need to practise saying the words with 'or' sound in them, which are 'door', 'floor', 'poor' and 'corn'. Once you have practise saying the 'or' sound and the words. I would like you to practise writing the 'or' sound.

 

Then I would like you to practise sound out the word using Fred talk:

door - d - o - or

floor - f - l - o - or

poor - p - o - or

corn - c - or - n
