English - Book Review
For today's English home learning we are going to be completing a book review for the story of 'Little Red Riding Hood'. A book review means that we are going to give our opinion which means what we think about a text and say whether we like it or don't like it.
I would like you to talk about your favourite and least favourite part of the the story. Which was your favourite and least favourite character and why? What type of book did you think it was, funny or scary or something else? Would you tell a friend to read it?
I would like you to choose either to complete the book review on the template below or you can get your grown - up recording you talking about the book. I have attached the book review template below, I look forward to seeing all your hard work on Tapestry.
Understanding of the world - 'In the woods I see...'
For today's home learning, I would like you to pretend you are in the woods and I would like you first to draw what you think you might see in the woods. Then underneath, I would like you to either to write sentences (up to 4 sentences) about what you see in the woods or you can write the key words to describe what you can see in the woods.
I have attached the sheet below which you can either print off or you can copy on to a sheet of paper. I look forward to seeing all your hard work on Tapestry.

Phonics 'oo' and 'oo' sound
For today's home learning, I would like you to revise the 'oo' and 'oo' sound. I would like you to practise saying the sounds:
Remember the rhymes are as follows:
'oo' - poo at the zoo
'oo' - look at a book
I would then I like you to practise writing some simple sentences with the words with both these sounds in them.
'oo words - poo, zoo, loo, boo, moo
'oo' words - look, book, cook, foot, hook
An example sentence would be:
'The animals are at the zoo'
I look forward to seeing all your hard work on Tapestry.
Phonics 'h' sound
For today's sound we are going to be recapping the 'h' sound. First, I would like you to practise saying the sound and the rhyme, remember first you need to say, 'h' and the 'h, down the horse's head to his hooves and over his back.'
Then you need to practise saying the words with 'h' sound in them, which are 'hot', hit', 'hat' and 'hip'. Once you have practise saying the 'h' sound and the words. I would like you to practise writing the 'h' sound.
Then I would like you to practise sound out the word using Fred talk:
hot - h - o - t
hit - h - i - t
hip - h - i - p
hat - h - a - t
I look forward to seeing all your hard work on Tapestry. I have attached the link to video for the 'h' sound for you to use whilst you are learning you are sounds.
