As we enter June and head towards the start of the summer month, I thought it would be great for us to look at a famous painting by Vincent Van Gogh which focuses on flowers that bloom in Summer. Van Gogh was a famous Dutch artist who was born in the Netherlands in 1853. He painted lots of landscapes and portraits and enjoyed using watercolours and oil paints. Below is one of his famous paintings that we are going to have a go at recreating today.
Van Gogh - Sunflowers
Using a plain piece of white paper, look carefully at the picture and have a go at copying it. Use a pencil to start and draw softly so that you can rub out any mistakes and make corrections. Once you are happy that you have added all the detail that you need to, you can start to add colour. Look carefully at the colours, what colours can you see? You can use paints, pencils or pens to add colour to your picture. I would love to see some photos of your sunflowers!
