Maths - 2-d shape sorting

For today's Maths home learning, I would like you to use what your learnt yesterday about different 2-D shapes to help you sort the different 2-D shapes into the correct section on the grid. You will need to put the correct shape into the correct boxes on the worksheet. You can either print the worksheet or you can copy the sheet onto paper to complete.

I have attached the worksheet below. I look forward to seeing all your hard work on Tapestry.

English - Retelling a story

For today's English, I would like you to re-tell the story of The Squirrels that Squabbled. I have attached a link below of the story being read to remind you of what happened in the story. You can either re-tell the story using your words or you can write the story as your re-tell it.

I look forward to seeing your hard work on Tapestry.

The Squirrels Who Squabbled - Read Aloud

Another great moral tale, about two little squirrels with some big lessons to learn! Read By Ellie xx

Expressive arts and design - toilet roll animals

For today's home learning, I would like you to create a woodland animal using a toilet roll. You need to decorate the toilet roll using different materials to look like different woodland creatures. You could create a hedgehog, badger, fox, squirrel or any other different type of woodland creature you can thing off.

I look forward to seeing your woodland creature toilet rolls on Tapestry.

Phonics - 'ir' sound

For today's home learning, I would like you to revise the 'ir' sound. I would like you to practise saying the sounds:

Remember the rhymes are as follows:
'ir' - whirl and twirl

I would then I like you to practise writing some simple sentences with the words with both these sounds in them.

'ir' words - whirl, twirl, swirl, circle, circus

An example sentence would be:
'There is a swirl in the ice-cream'

I look forward to seeing your hard work on Tapestry.

Phonics 'j' sound

For today's sound we are going to be recapping the 'j' sound. First, I would like you to practise saying the sound and the rhyme, remember first you need to say, 'j' and the 'j, down his body, curl and dot for his head.'

Then you need to practise saying the words with 'j' sound in them, which are 'jump', 'jug', 'jot' and 'jelly'. Once you have practise saying the 'j' sound and the words. I would like you to practise writing the 'j' sound.

Then I would like you to practise sound out the word using Fred talk:
jump - j - u - m - p
jug - j - u - g
jot - j - o - t
jelly - j - e - ll - y

I look forward to seeing all your hard work on Tapestry.
