Forest School Fun

Forest School Fun, We have learnt to whittle, use a hand drill and hammer. We also learnt about fire safety and cooked on the fire. As well as having fun in the mud and making dens.

What we've been up to recently:

This half term we've had a busy time in all our subjects. In Maths we've been working on Fractions, Multiplication and Division. The children have made good progress in their times tables - keep practising!

In writing we are writing our own stories based on hansel and Gretel.

In Geography we have been learning about OS maps and grid references. We especially enjoyed looking at OS maps from 1890, 1950 and today, seeing how much Colchester has grown and how Greenstead was all farmland quite recently! In Science we've been looking at forces, starting with friction and air resistance.

In PE we've been doing a dance unit, which everyone is enjoying!

In DT the children have been designing and making high-vis vests linked to road safety.

We are going to be doing Forest Schools every Wednesday in the Spring Term, pictures to follow!
